Industrial Asset Management Made Simple

Our Inspectors are certified ASNT-SNT-TC-1A Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians. Our NDT methods yield in-depth quantitative results, allowing us to calculate corrosion rates and find areas of excessive deterioration. We can then recommend the preventative maintenance needed to mitigate the probability of a hazardous discharge into the environment and avoid more costly repairs later on.

We perform both fixed interval inspections and risk-based inspections to provide insight into the structural integrity of your assets when it is most needed. Our expert API 653, API 510, STI SP0001, and API 570 inspections will uncover exactly how well your tank is holding up, to both outside elements and the product it contains.

Why Los Angeles is Choosing NDT Tanknicians

NDT Tanknicians understands the unique needs of the many industrial manufacturers and suppliers operating in Southern California. While the Port of Los Angeles enables the national and global transportation of the region’s products, the salt water of San Pedro Bay increases the oxidation rates and corrosion of its storage tanks. In addition to tank inspections, NDT Tanknicians offers high-quality anti-corrosive coating and lining services and expert repair services, allowing you to extend the lifespan of your assets and safeguard against costly premature degradation.

Due to the crude fields in the San Joaquin Valley and the Los Angeles Basin, oil and gas is a major industry in California. The Elk Hills Oil Field, operated by the California Resources Corporation, is located in Kern County and is the fifth-largest oil field in California and the seventh-most productive field in the nation. The city of Los Angeles is home to the Occidental Petroleum headquarters as well as the largest oil refinery on the West Coast, the Marathon Petroleum refinery near the Los Angeles Harbor, which operates with a crude oil capacity of 363,000 barrels per day. The combined rated capacity of the five refineries in Los Angeles county is 1 million barrels per day.

Numerous accidents, including the 2007 Cosco Busan, the 2012 Chevron refinery fire, and the 2015 ExxonMobil Refinery explosion have underlined the importance of high-quality testing and inspections. Los Angeles County’s oil and gas companies contribute $8.6 billion in gross regional product and have created over 35,000 jobs and we are proud to offer our expert tank and pressure vessel inspection services to this vital industry.
